Holism
Holism is a quantum state of being; a direct connection to Divine Source through one’s True/Higher Self. For me, this means living in alignment with my True Self by pulling strength straight from Source/Divine. It is a wondrous and beautiful state of being. However, Holism as a constant and consistent state of Being takes practice and is the key that unlocks your inner journey.
As humans we are raised to live, learn, communicate, measure & teach linearly. This linear model may be the key for most of us as a foundation for learning, communicating and teaching, but the real-world application of our learning and experiences as humans is actually quantum. The point here is the linear foundation we have all experienced can and does both hold us back as well as propel us forward.
How does it hold us back? As a society, we are conditioned to don particular personas in different areas or situations in our lives; the professional, the student, the son/daughter, the parent, the social/friend, etc., and shape-shift to acclimate accordingly. Foundationally, this makes sense to learn how different types and levels of communication, atmospheres, dress, manners etc., play their role.
Where our practice comes in once we are Awakened is: rather than donning our True Self like a piece of our wardrobe, we Be, and with Intention in everything we Do, Live in Holism in professional situations, family situations, learning situations, social situations, etc., because that is what they truly are-situations, perceptions of reality vs. who we are.
When living in Holism is active, it is so much easier to discern from the situations we do and don’t want to participate in. It takes consciousness, perseverance, and courage to live in alignment with and be true to yourSelf. Holism is not something to be perfected, and perfection is a speaking for another day.
Holism is the application of our Spiritual Self in human form and is perfect in its imperfections. ~Crystal Cockerham, April 2016
I strive to Be in Holism in all parts of my life each and every day. Just like learning to ride a bike, sometimes I fall. I then pull myself up and get right back on the bike and try not to fall in the same place or allow the same ‘bump or hole’ to take me down again. It shows me where I can strengthen the inner bond with my True Self.
With this, my perspective of Holism, I challenge each and every one of you to give yourself permission to experience and be experienced as your True Self in every action and reaction in each situation.
Be aware and mindful of where it is challenging for you. For it is in these challenges that your linear foundation has crept into your state of being. It is these challenges, that cause you to fall off your bike. They are the ‘bumps or holes’ that take you down. It is here that you have the opportunity to strengthen the inner bond with your True Self. You can do this by acknowledging that it is showing you an unreleased pattern, wound, or self-limiting belief and use it as a tool to help you move forward on your inner journey and in so doing, thrive in a quantum world. So stop donning the personas and Be the Divine, True Self you are and embrace Holism in all its wonder and beauty.

While I have not used the word “holism” to describe this direct connection with Presence/Source/God self, I certainly resonate with everything you are saying. I appreciate your point about it being an active way of living, rather than merely a state that we attain. Thank you for a rich post!
Crystal Cockerham
Thank you Laurie! I think if we start using this term, it will end up in the dictionary! Ooh, I wonder what THAT definition would like!?

Beautiful post Crystal! Thanks for sharing your wisdom. Warm Hugs, Pam

Fascinating. I am a gestalt practitioner (gestalt means “whole”) and your “holism” perspective is a parallel to my Winged-Women™ Business & Life Coaching model. I simply adore this!
Crystal Cockerham
Thanks Jan! I haven’t heard of gestalt practitioner. I am going to visit your web site.

Staying connected to Spirit in every moment is a never-ending challenge but one I gladly take on!
Crystal Cockerham
It is a continuous challenge Barb, some moments are more challenging than others-but that is where we grow. [insert smiley face here.]

I love this post, Crystal, very deep and thought-provoking. It’s also timely for me because I am working through some transitional moments with a focus on evolving myself. I’m particularly focused on “being” in the now while still holding intention for the future. From a quantum perspective, it’s a meeting of present and future, while releasing the past. I’m also really loving the energies I’m picking up in Nature. Gotta love Earth energy! Thanks for a great share.
Crystal Cockerham
Thank you for commenting and sharing Sheila. You have totally nailed that quantum perspective! Easier said than done, right? I will be holding space for you as you move through this expansion.

Love your quote “Holism is the application of our Spiritual Self in human form and is perfect in its imperfections”
“To strengthen the inner bond with your True Self.” is something we should all strive to do, I love that saying. Thanks for sharing.
Crystal Cockerham
Thank you Heather! This is wonderful to see what jumps out at readers and to examine each one on its own!

Fascinating blog! I love this line, “It takes consciousness, perseverance, and courage to live in alignment with and be true to yourSelf.” I totally agree and believe cultivating daily self-nurturing practices that allow us to come home to ourselves is critical in the process. Thank you so much!
Crystal Cockerham
Kelley you are very welcome. I am glad that you enjoyed it! I was attending a Holistic Chamber of Commerce, and each month, a member would give a talk on how s/he perceived Holism. I really enjoyed writing it and was happy with how it was received both then and now.
