Reflecting, Releasing & Reseting w/the Elements

Reflecting,Releasing & Reseting w/the Elements

We all have our mercurial moments, phases or stretches of time where we feel like we are in a funk, extra emotional, excessively stressed, etc.,  When these moments occur, they are a huge nudge from your guardian angels & guides to pay attention.

Just like a teething baby cries to tell you something isn’t right, your energy system is signaling you to go within and release what has been locked up and hidden inside your being.

How do you go within and unlock these hidden sources of unrest that are making you irritable, moody, even down-trodden?  Well, it just so happens that I have thoughts on that.

First, in what ever way you are most called to in the moment, reflect.  The most popular way most utilize is journaling.  However, sketching, doodling, coloring, gardening, cleaning, walking, etc., are all ways that also help you to connect with and start unlocking the mercurial source within.  And of course, let us not forget about other popular go-to’s like meditation, yoga, qi-gong, tai-chi, cycling, etc.,

Second, tap into the elements and allow their energy to aid you in releasing those feelings and thoughts you have just unlocked.

  • Fire transforms whatever you feed to its flames.  Ice melts to water which then evaporates to air, wood to smoke & ash, etc.,  If in the reflection from step one you journaled, colored, or doodled, it is very fitting to then feed the those pages to the flame.  After all, you kept them locked up inside you for how long?  Why release them from your being just to keep them trapped on paper?  Allow the flames to transform them!  If, during the reflective process you engaged in a moving activity, find a leaf, a twig, one of your loose hairs…you get the idea, and hold between the palms of your hands in front of your heart space and imbue it with what you have uncovered and are willing to let go of and with gratitude give it to the flames.
  • Water is nature’s symbolism for our emotions because after all, we do shed tears-be they in joy, grief, or frustration.  There is a really cool thing I love to use when both releasing (and manifesting) with water, water-soluble paper.  However, you can use water by putting your feet in it and sending the energy you are releasing down through your feet, you can place your hands in the flowing water and allow it to cleanse away what you are releasing, you can also soak in the tub with a combination of various salts and baking soda-even add some essential oils if you so choose and soak in it for at least 20 minutes.
  • Air is breath, and movement.  When using your breath, it is important to not breath shallowly-meaning only breathing into your lungs or breathing quickly.  For a simple, yet powerful breathing exercise, check out my ebook, 4 Simple Steps to Finding Calm in Chaos. Another way of using air is finding a leaf, feather or dandelion gone to seed and holding it between the palms of your hands in front of your heart space and imbue it with what you have uncovered and are willing to let go of and with gratitude and release it to the wind or, in the case of the dandelion blow to disperse the seeds just as you would if you were making a wish.  You can also combine fire here with the use of floating paper lanterns or flying wish/prayer paper.
  • Earth is the densest of the elements, but don’t let that fool you.  She is incredibly powerful to work with.  She is the container for all.  Here are just a few examples of earth energy for releasing: you can literally hug a tree to release and reset, you can also lean on it with palms flush to the park, you can sit at its base on the earth with your back to it, heck, you can even climb up onto one of its limbs.  You can bury things in the dirt for releasing-biodegradable, environmental friendly of course and remember the water soluble paper?  Well, if you use inside in a bowl, you can put the water onto the earth.

While, the moon, that mystical shimmery sphere in the cosmos, isn’t an element, her energies are powerful to align with.  When she is full, the energies are aligned with releasing.  If there happens to be an eclipse or retrograde(s) while she is in this phase, that’s the cosmo’s way of amplifying the call to reflect, release & reset.

Have fun connecting and communicating with the elements!

Love these! I have used all of these at one point both physically and energetically. Fire as you stated and with a candle moving the light into each chakra. Water a bath or a walk in the cleansing rain. After releasing calling forth a shower of Divine Love and Light restoring all my energetic field. Walk in the wind blowing out stale energies and stuck emotions cleansing me. Earth walking and intending with each step to release what no longer serves.

So many ways to engage with the elements, thanks for encouraging exploration and communion💖💖💖

You are so welcome, I love being in nature, surrounded by the events and working with them! This is by no means an all-inclusive list, but a great start!!! Thank you for sharing both your experience and excitement!

Thank you for these excellent examples of releasing. I live an Epsom salt bath with essential oils, lavender and eucalyptus are my favorites. I also love to do the Stretch, a 2-minute balancing/centering exercise that helps with focus and stress management. As a busy lady, it’s important to take time to care for myself and keep my energy clear si I can offer my best to my family and the world around me.
Thanks for this helpful article. 🙏❤
